NFL Preseason Power Rankings

Ok, so the preseason hasn't officially started. There are still 6 more days until that happens. But I can't hold it any longer. I have to jump in here and start blogging about some football. I know most of my loyal readers don't care, but a few (Rich and Paymon) do. So this is for them!!!

Here is how I have the Power Ranking as of today. I will adjust it each week after mulling over some preseason games. The top team is who I have as my most likely to win the Superbowl and it goes down to least likely. (Sorry Raider Fans)

1. Patriots
2. Colts
3. Chargers
4. Saints
5. Bears
6. Ravens
7. Cowboys
8. Bengals
9. Eagles
10. Broncos
11. Seahwaks
12. Steelers
13. Jaguars
14. Jets
15. 49ers
16. Rams
17. Panthers
18. Chiefs
19. Giants
20. Titans
21. Lions
22. Bucs
23. Dolphins
24. Falcons
25. Redskins
26. Texans
27. Cardinals
28. Packers
29. Browns
30. Vikings
31. Bills
32. Raiders

Now, let me say that i have three or four teams in my sights that could be making some big moves.

I think that the Tampa Bay Bucs are ready to break out and with Atlanta in turmoil this could be a great chance for them to make some noise in the NFC South. I think the Rams and 49ers are going to be right there with Seattle. I also think that Seattle could fall as far as 3rd in that division.

I think that the Panthers will be much imporved this year and they tend to have an up year and then a down. So we will keep an eye on that.

The Redskins are pretty low, but they have the talent to be in the top 5. Will Gibbs get them there? That remains to be seen.

I think the Colts are still the best in the AFC South, but watch out for Jacksonville. The Titans are likely going to take a step back this year. And Leftwich has something still to prove. So the Jags could make some noise.

But if I had to chose the Super Bowl match up right now...I'd say Saints and Patriots. That may change by next week.

OUT!

I’m going to use your blog to blog my opinions on this season, Cree.

The Patriot’s, on paper, look like the best team but I think the Colts are still the best team. I think they’ll have home field advantage in the playoffs and get to the Super Bowl again. I love the Saints pick from the NFC and I know Rich does too. The NFC is wide open and there’s no reason why the Saints can’t be the team. I actually think the Saints have a chance to win it all. I think the Colts will have the best record but the Saints are going to pull off an upset. I’m drinking the Saints Kool-Aid this year. Some quick hits:
- Tampa Bay Beavers suck and 6-10 is all they have in them.
- The Falcons aren’t as bad as they seem w/o Vick. I see them going possibly 9-7, but no threat to do anything.
- Cowboys at 7? I refuse to believe.
- Redskins will have a win or 2 and things may even look OK early, but as long as Gibbs is the coach, this team is in mediocreville, (yeah that’s a word).
- Bears are going to regret the Cedric Benson decision. Thomas Jones was underrated and they’re gonna feel his loss. I predict a 1st round loss in the playoffs (by then, whoever they play will be favored in the game)
- The 49ers are dangerous as long as Frank Gore is healthy.

I want to do player predictions too, but that will have to wait until after the fantasy football draft….can’t give away my secrets.

Well, Frank Gore is now UN-Healthy with that broken hand. As usual he is an injury risk.

Damn I love the Tampa Bay Beavers!

I agree that the Bears will feel the loss of Thomas Jones.

By the way, COWBOYS SUCK!
