Black and White Album
For their 4th studio album, The Hives took their sweet time. They pranced around the world recording in different spots including a stint in Oxford, Mississippi. Go figure. But what the time off did was give the band some time to re-energize and come out swinging. Well the wait is over and the new record is explosive. It's kind of like listening to two different bands. The first half is vintage Hives with Tick Tick Boom and other rock songs. However, the band takes an unexpected left turn about half way through. The two best songs on the album were produced by Pharrell Williams. They are "Well Alright" and the funky "T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S."
