The Simpsons

Did you hear? The Simpsons movie raked in over 71 million dollars this past weekend. The "experts" predicted 60 million. I had my guess set around 45 million. I thought that they were waaaay over shooting it. But Homer and Bart managed to ride past even the most lofty expectations.
I am sure a sequel will be in the works. And I would bet that this bodes well for the future of the television series. And when the series does end I would guess that some life might remain in a string of motion picture releases.
That all being said, The Simpsons have now officially cemented itself as one of the true icons of our generation.
