How I Met Your Mother

Marshall and Lilly are probably not going to live happily ever after...where there is no situation, there is no comedy. But, with Marshall and Lilly having the opportunity to reconsile this season and end with the exchanging of vows, I think the show is at its best with that couple are at their best.
The twist ending was above average too for a sitcom. Usually on a half hour show someone finds out that they are pregnant or someone has a heart attack or someone breaks up...So, why was Ted and Robin's break-up so different...because there were subtle, but unassuming signs all season that this would happen...and that it happened cleanly and quietly makes it that much more amazing.
The show wasn't incredibly funny, minus Barney's paranoia that his life as he knew it was over, but it was sweet and sincere and that's where this show tends to get its best mileage.

I hope next season we get to see more of Ted and Barney on the town. And I hope that we get to see some of the funny side of marriage from M & L. The married couple sitcom is old and if anyone can bring something fresh to the table, it's HIMYM.

Finale Grade: B+
